小幡指導員 オランダ合気道セミナー

2026年8月、オランダのアケルスロートにおいて、友和会（Yuwakai）主催のサマースクールが開催され、小幡 修指導員が指導に行かれました。

小幡指導員は、海外では「Osamu Obata Shihan（小幡師範）」として紹介され、合気道を指導されてこられました。

私たちにとっては身近な存在である小幡先生ですが、実は大変すばらしい実績をお持ちで、海外でも高く評価されています。

今回のセミナーにも、各国から多くの合気道愛好家が参加されたそうです。

小幡先生から現地で撮影された写真が届きましたので、皆様にご紹介します。

写真には、多くの参加者が集まったセミナー会場での集合風景が収められています。年齢や国籍、稽古歴を越えて、合気道を通じた交流が行われた様子が伝わってきます。

このほかにも、オランダを象徴する風車や運河、歴史を感じさせる街並みなど、現地ならではの美しい風景を撮影した写真が届いています。

宿泊されている施設の写真を送っていただきました。

ここは、かつて刑務所として使われていた建物を改装したホテルだそうです。

独房の扉や二階の回廊など、当時の面影を残しながら、現在は多くの人を温かく迎える宿泊施設へと生まれ変わっています。

かつて人の自由を閉ざしていた場所が、時を経て、人々の旅や新しい出会いを支える場所になる――。建物の歴史を消すのではなく、その記憶を受け継ぎながら新たな価値を生み出す、とても意義深く素晴らしい再生だと感じました。

This hotel was once a prison and has since been converted into accommodation.

While retaining traces of its past, such as the original cell doors and the upper-level walkways, the building has been transformed into a welcoming place for travellers.

A place that once deprived people of their freedom has, with the passage of time, become a place that supports people’s journeys and brings about new encounters. Rather than erasing the building’s history, this meaningful restoration preserves its memories while giving it a new purpose.

Instructor Osamu Obata — Aikido Seminar in the Netherlands

In August 2026, the Yuwakai Summer School was held in Akersloot, the Netherlands. Instructor Osamu Obata travelled there to teach at the seminar.

Internationally, he is introduced as “Osamu Obata Shihan” and has taught Aikido in various countries. Although Obata Sensei is a familiar presence to us, he has an outstanding record of achievement and is highly respected internationally.

Many Aikido practitioners from various countries took part in the seminar.

Obata Sensei sent us photographs from the Netherlands, which we are pleased to share with you.

The group photographs show participants of different ages, nationalities and levels of experience practising together. We understand that the seminar provided opportunities not only to improve their Aikido skills, but also to develop international friendships through Aikido.

Obata Sensei also sent us photographs of the beautiful Dutch scenery, including the country’s iconic windmills, canals and historic streets.

Obata Sensei, well done on completing your teaching in the Netherlands!

I’m actually an art lover myself, and I have a Banksy artwork hanging in my home. I’m truly envious that Obata Sensei had the chance to see an original Banksy in person! (Laughs)
